Community Participation

LPHLHA welcomes community participation in its two areas of focus:

The Lyme Public Hall, a non-profit, membership organization dedicated to the appreciation of Lyme’s history, culture, and community.
The Bacdayan Local History Archives collects and preserves historical materials about the town of Lyme, its history, culture, life-ways, institutions, and people.

Lyme Public Hall

There are many ways to get involved along with our volunteer Board of Directors to put on Lyme Public Hall events and programs. We need help:

  • planning events and programs
  • setting up beforehand
  • mailing flyers
  • running errands (i.e. shopping, mailing flyers, etc)
  • greeting
  • cooking and serving food
  • cashiering
  • managing parking, and
  • cleaning up afterwards.

If you’re interested in participating with the Public Hall, please contact us.

Local History Archives

There are many ways to get involved along with Julie Hughes, our volunteer Archivist.  We need help:

  • transcribing archival documents and oral history tapes
  • indexing materials
  • writing descriptions and abstracts of documents
  • curating small exhibits, etc.

If you’re interested in participating, please contact Julie Hughes.

We look forward to your participation.
